JOYCE GONZALEZ-ALLER

I started working with ASPNM back when it was just a ski program. I enrolled my daughter and began to volunteer while she was in lessons. I am currently an active board member. I often say this program saved my daughters life. She has excelled with the program and attends every activity that she can. She has grown to be a super athlete. I continue to support this program with my heart and soul, as I truly believe it is the best program ever!

DOREEN HURTIG

I have been involved in the travel business, setting up ski packages to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and the Canadian rockies.

I eventually went into the insurance field with Aflac, as an associate. This is what brought me to Santa Fe, as district manager for northern New Mexico.

I started teaching with ASPNM in 1997, then became a board member several years later.

On the board I have been the gala event chair. Having a great committee and Camille Romero, made our event a huge success.

BOB PEIRCE

BLAKE GORDON SHERDON

As a psychotherapist by profession, I believe in and participate in active listening, critical thinking, and problem-solving, which are skills I try to bring to my participation on the Board of Directors for the Adaptive Ski Program of New Mexico. I first became aware of the program a number of years ago while skiing at Ski Santa Fe. As an avid skier myself, I would watch participants in the program and both athletes and instructors/volunteers were having a blast, enjoying the mountain, and exhibiting some awesome feats of skill. As time went on I became more interested in the program, and after attending the Snow Ball gala in March of 2017 and listening to athletes share their experiences I was convinced that I wanted to be a part of this inspiring program. From my own experiences, I have recognized the benefits of participating in outdoor activities that bring joy and balance to my life, such as skiing, yoga, hiking, and running. From this perspective, the mission of the program is in alignment with my own personal values, making the work and effort put forth feel valuable and inspiring.

ABIGAIL SOUZA

I was first introduced to ASP through my years of employment at Ski Santa Fe. I had also run my own catering company for almost a decade when I first volunteered in the “camp Kitchen” for the 2014 event at Ute Lake. I fell in love with the program as I continued to volunteer and watched it enhance people’s lives over the next few years. I joined the board in 2018 and also continue to volunteer.

BRANDON THOMPSON

Brandon is a dynamic individual whose journey has taken him from the creative realms of apparel manufacturing and production, where he honed his skills at FIDM, to the rugged terrains of high alpine mountaineering. Passionate about the outdoors, Brandon is an avid enthusiast who thrives in the challenges of nature. Despite his adventurous spirit, he has seamlessly transitioned into the corporate world and currently serves as a loan officer, bringing a unique blend of creativity and financial acumen to his professional endeavors. Outside the office, he enjoys exploring nature with his two dogs, sharing adventures with his wife, and cherishing precious moments with his daughter.

ANNJENETTE TORRES

A native New Mexican, Annjenette grew up in Albuquerque and went to Highland Highland High School and the University of New Mexico. She has an amazing son David and lives in Santa Fe. Annjenette, aka "Aj" has been involved in the Adaptive Sports program since 2017 in both summer and winter activities. She is a member of the Snow Ball committee and enjoys skiing, spending time with her family and travelling with friends.

As the volunteer manager at Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center, she appreciates and values the importance and contributions of volunteers in our community. Recreation and sports have always been a part of Annjenette’s life, both personally and professionally. She was a gymnast and a dancer and her first job was with the City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation summer and afterschool programs. After a 25 year career with state government, spanning from early childhood, education, policy and finance, she volunteered in the Santa Fe public schools. She was introduced to New Mexico Adaptive Sports through a chance chairlift ride with Camille Romero who invited her to the Snow Ball, and the rest is history.

GINGER WILLIAMS

Ginger was born and raised on the east coast by active parents who instilled in her a love of the outdoors- skiing, camping, hiking, rock climbing, and cycling, to name a few. They also taught her about being an active member of the community and volunteering for organizations that resonate with one's beliefs.

Ginger has a degree from the University of Massachusetts- Amherst in Sport Management and has spent over 20 years in sports, fitness, event management, and the non-profit industries. Her deep commitment to community and extreme extrovert personality have her volunteering at many events around Santa Fe and have found her on a number of boards, joining Adaptive Sports New Mexico in 2024. She has been volunteering for the Snow Ball for many good years, loves the mission, and is happy to be a part of it all.

Ginger is married to a native New Mexican billiard playing man, has a very good dog and two exuberant sons- the elder of which has been an ASPNM participant since 2015. She is incredibly proud of all her son has achieved and learned, and finds extreme joy in his celebrated athleticism and ability by the volunteers in the program.
