“We wanted to thank you so much for the adaptive ski. I don't think he has ever been so excited and is already planning his trip for next year. It truly made him feel more a part of everything.”

"I had an great time! Snowboarding was something I have wanted to try for at least 8 years but was not sure I would be able to, due to paralysis of my right side. I found out about this program and because of this program it finally happened! I am looking forward to next season.

"My son is autistic with very significant limitations on his communication skills and mental capacity. He started in the program when he was three years old and now is 32. He has skied all but one season and it really is one of the joys of his life. Even with his limited communication skills, he asks to go skiing whenever there is snow. He has had many great instructors over the years and we are very appreciative of their efforts. Thanks."

"ASPNM has created a safe, friendly opportunity for Faith to ski. In a world full of no, with shoulder shrugs and I’m sorry, ASPNM says yes with open arms. They find a way for every athlete to not only participate but succeed."

We are a family of 8, with our youngest child having a prosthetic leg. Our oldest two are seniors in high school and because of our youngest (she is 5 now), we haven’t been able to ski in several years (7 to be exact). We decided this year to try per the request of the seniors for their last year of high school. I researched no less than 10 ski resorts in Colorado and New Mexico. I called and emailed and searched online at options. Finally, I posed the question on Facebook as well, and one of our friends, whose husband has only one leg, told us to look at Ski Santa Fe. My husband and I skied there when our now-senior was 9 months old but not since. I looked into it and BECAUSE of the Adaptive Sports Program, and the fact that Chipmunk Corner would also help us out with her (she’s older than the babies, clearly, but can’t do traditional ski school with other 5 year olds), we chose it. I cannot tell you how pleased we were. Over. The. Top. The ASP teachers were AMAZING. Our daughter got to ski every day and on our last day we all skied as a family with her two helpers. It was beyond incredible. I have videos and pictures. I have posted and raved about the fact that your mountain offers this service.

“I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for all of your work with the adaptive ski program in Santa Fe. I had a GREAT time on Saturday. It really lit a fire under me to start figuring out how to get my own ski so I can hit the slopes more often. Once per year just isn't going to cut it. I grew up in southern Michigan, so I never really had much opportunity to ski. However, being so close to Santa Fe, I should really take advantage of the mountain and the great program that you have. Thanks again for all of your hard work and sacrifice. I was also wondering if you have Steve's e-mail address. I'd like to thank him for all of his help and pointers. He was very helpful and patient. You are fortunate to have such great people as volunteers!
Thanks again!”

I would like to thank you and and all the people involved with the Adaptive Sports Program New Mexico, for such an incredibly fun weekend at Elephant Butte Lake, New Mexico earlier this month. The atmosphere was wonderful. Everyone was willing to help out in any way they could, including staff, volunteers and other Disabled individuals and their caregivers. Everyone shared tips, tricks and any other kind of knowledge they could.
As an avid outsdoorman, being able to get back on the lake and in the water again cannot be put into adequate words to express how it made me feel inside.
I broke my back and became a paraplegic 2 years ago in January 2015. This was my first opportunity to get back in the lake since my accident. I got to fish from the boat and catch my first ever Walleye, water ski and get in a single person canoe with the stabilizing outriggers. Being able to do things I love is an incredible blessing and boost, not only physically but for the mind and spirit as well. The feeling of freedom cannot be explained.
The pictures and videos were awesome. They are great ways for friends, family and others tho see what we can still do despite our individual limitations. They are great tools for educating and inspiring others to fight on in their own lives, or to encourage those around them who may be struggling with something.
I look forward to participating in future events with the program. I would love to see coordination and joint participation between Adaptive Sports Program New Mexico and the VA Adaptive Sports Program. The way your organization treats Disabled Veterans with, courtesy, respect, dignity and compassion is beyond compare. It was nice to meet other participants as well as staff and volunteers who were also Disabled Veterans.
Making certain events free of charge to Veterans when possible is greatly appreciated, and may be the only way some of us can afford to participate. Again, thank you to all who make these events and opportunities available to us.
I can't say enough great things about the organization and those involved. Seriously looking forward to next time,
-David

I am going to start training for the ultimate mono-ski - helicopter, black diamond insanity.”

"ASP helped me mentally and physically to be stronger. I find one door leads to another which allowed me to reach my recreation and fitness goals through summer and winter activities. Now I’m a participant and I’m not just watching."
